The Rams (4-5, 2-3 MW) have won two of their last three games, including last week’s 26-7 win at Wyoming. Colorado State was in line for the shutout until the Cowboys scored late on a touchdown run by Brian Hill. On the offensive side of the ball, with Rashard Higgins held in check, CSU received big contributions from running backs Dalyn Dawkins (25 car, 140 yards) and Izzy Matthews (16 car, 55 yards, 2 TD). The duo led a Rams rushing attack that gained 228 yards rushing.
The Rebels (3-6, 2-3 MW) are back on the winning track after knocking off Hawaii 41-21 last week to snap a three-game skid. UNLV and Hawaii were tied 7-7 midway through the second quarter, but the Rebels took the lead after Blake Decker connected with Aaron Criswell for an 85-yard touchdown. UNLV never relinquished the lead after that. The Rebels were aided by their potent running game, as Keith Whitely and Lexington Thomas combined for 38 carries, 244 yards and two scores. Devonte Boyd hauled in six receptions for 120 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Blake Decker continues to move up the Rebels passing charts. He finished 15-of-24 for 258 yards passing and two touchdowns.
