This is it. It’s the eve of National Signing Day, and we’re preparing for a seemingly endless wave of college commitments on Wednesday. So far, just in the hours leading up to the big day, we’ve already seen some movement.
Alabama and Georgia were tied for the top spot, but the Crimson Tide picked up a huge commitment on Tuesday afternoon, edging out LSU and TCU for 4-star defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis.
Now, the Bulldogs are sitting squarely at No. 2, and it’s the Michigan Wolverines who are still stuck at No. 3 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings despite picking up a surprise commitment from 4-star wide receiver Oliver Martin on Monday night.
Two teams that could climb in the rankings by the end of National Signing Day are USC and Florida. The Gators started their move up the rankings a little bit earlier by adding 4-star defensive tackle Elijah Conliffe, which was their fourth commit in as many days.
