College football recruiting rankings update as of Feb. 12, 2017. Miami added a huge piece to its 2018 recruiting class and inched closer to rival Florida State.

It’s early in the 2018 recruiting class, so a lot can and will change during the next few months.

But one team that is surprising many right now is Kansas. David Beaty’s Jayhawks have capitalized off of some drama between LSU and the New Orleans area high schools, as they’ve added more than a handful of commitments from Louisiana natives over the past week.

Kansas is now up to No. 11 in the 2018 class rankings, as it has 11 total commits. The only other school with double-digit commits in the top 25 is Penn State, who has the No. 1 spot in the rankings.

Another team to watch out for is Miami. The Hurricanes picked up a huge commitment from 4-star running back Lorenzo Lingard, and then Miami subsequently added his cousin Avantae Williams, a safety in the 2020 class.

The ‘Canes are now up to No. 5 and are only 24 recruiting points behind ACC rival Florida State. The Seminoles have six total commits and are at No. 4.

Below are the current top 25 teams for the college football recruiting rankings.
