A college football news roundup that includes Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett talking about what to do when scoring a touchdown, and more bad news for Kentucky.

We have a pretty good one tonight in Atlanta between Clemson and the Rambling Wreck to get us prepped for the weekend. In the meantime, Florida head coach Jim McElwain is relaxed ahead of the Tennessee game, it’s a big week for former Purdue quarterbacks, and Miami head coach Mark Richt is fitting right in with the Hurricanes. Here are some other newsworthy notes in the latest college football news roundup.

Act Like You’ve Been There Before – Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett has scored a lot of touchdowns, and when he enters the end zone he knows exactly what to do.

“Yeah, here’s the rule — and we do have rules [for scoring],” Barrett said. “When you score, you hand the ball to an official and you go hug a big guy. That’s the rule. If anybody got away from that and dropped the ball before they crossed the end zone and the other team recovered it, I could only imagine what that day would be like for that man — or the rest of the year — with Coach [Urban] Meyer. I just couldn’t tell you how awful that might be. I gave you the rules, but as for the consequences, God, I don’t know. … That’s a rough day at the office.”

Hopefully others will heed the advice.

From Bad To Worse In The Bluegrass – Kentucky and head coach Mark Stoops just can’t catch a break, as the Wildcats will be without quarterback Drew Barker for a “significant” time due to a back injury. Last Saturday against New Mexico State, Barker was injured in the first drive. The injury will not require surgery.

Remember The Chanticleers? – After helping the Coastal Carolina baseball team stun the nation by winning the College World Series this past June, second baseman Tyler Chadwick has been added to the football roster and is working at quarterback after the Chanticleers suffered some injuries.
