Everything you need to know about the Clemson vs. Florida State online live stream and TV broadcast, as well as game notes and prediction. The No. 1
November 6, 2015The No. 1 Clemson Tigers will play host to the No. 16 Florida Seminoles in Death Valley for the most highly anticipated Atlantic Coast Conference matchup of the season.
The Tigers (8-0, 5-0 ACC) come into this having won 11 straight games — the longest streak since 1980-82 (13). Last time out, Clemson took down the NC State Wolfpack in a shootout 56-41. Deshaun Watson continued his brilliance on the field, as he connected on 23 of his 30 pass attempts for 383 yards and 5 touchdowns. Watson also added 14 rushes for 54 yards and a score, which tied his career-high with 6 total touchdowns. Wayne Gallman was also a major part of the rushing attack, accumulating a season-high 172 yards on 31 rushes and a touchdown. That was the fifth time this season Gallman has hit the 100-yard mark.
The Seminoles (7-1, 5-1 ACC) were able to bounce back from their nightmare loss to Georgia Tech with a 45-21 win over Syracuse last week. Without Dalvin Cook or Everett Golson, Sean McGuire stepped in and the offense didn’t miss a beat. McGuire hit on 23-of-35 passes for 348 yards and 3 touchdowns. The other fill-in for Cook, Jacques Patrick, carried the ball 24 times for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns. Travis Rudolph caught all three of McGuire’s touchdown passes, marking the first time in Florida State history that two teammates combined for 3 touchdowns rushing and 3 touchdowns receiving. The Seminoles finished another game without committing a turnover, and they have turned the ball over twice all season — tied with LSU for the fewest in the nation.
Saturday marks the 29th time that Clemson and Florida State will meet in a series that dates back to 1970. The Seminoles have the 20-8 lead in the series.
Below is everything you need to know about the game, including the Clemson vs. Florida State online live stream, TV broadcast information, game notes and prediction.
The Tigers are playing better football than the Seminoles right now, with Watson as the face of that edge. No, this won’t be another six-touchdown outburst for No. 4, but he is ready to be the MVP of the game. The fact that Golson and Cook are anything less than full strength is an additional problem, because the Clemson defense is just itching to prove that last week’s awkward performance was an anomaly. Unless Cook dons a cape and performs like a superhero — a la the Miami game — the Tigers are ready to wreck the Noles. It might not be that close in the final quarter, as the home team vents three years worth of rivalry frustration.
