Think about this for a second. This will be the first recruiting class Dabo Swinney will sign as a national champion. That’s an enormous advantage, and Tiger fans are hoping it’ll lead to a few surprises down the stretch as National Signing Day comes closer into view.
Clemson is still without a running back commit in the class, and is trying to add one before Feb. 1. But if the Tigers can’t pull it off, they’ll still have a respectable haul.
With that said, here is a look at a mock Clemson Tigers recruiting class as the 2017 cycle nears its end.
He shows great pocket presence and excellent arm strength.
He has a smooth release and the intangibles to play the quarterback position.
LSU, Tennessee and Texas A&M are going to make it difficult. He wants to play early, and Clemson can make its pitch by getting Etienne on campus for an official visit.
He brings elite size to the position and is a true deep threat. Higgins high points the football and shows great control of his body.
He’s a tough-nosed receiver with reliable hands, and makes things happen after the catch.
It won’t take long for Clemson to involve Rudolph in the passing game. He’s a great route runner with great hands.
He’s a solid drive blocker and is built to help the running game.
Vinson has quick feet and is versatile enough to slide down the offensive line.
He’s powerful OL with long arms.
He’s an athletic defensive end who fires off the ball.
Foster lays the wood and will bring an aggressive mentality toward stopping the run.
Terrell recovers well and has great ball skills.
He’s a physical cornerback with great awareness.
Spector has played receiver, so we know he can catch the ball, but he can certainly hit, too.
