    February 4, 2016

Former Florida quarterback Chris Leak has landed the first head coaching position of his young career. On Thursday, Leak was introduced as the new coach for Edgewater High School, an FHSAA 7A-4 classified school located in Orlando’s College Park neighborhood.

Leak, who led the Gators to a national championship in 2006 but is often overlooked historically because of Tim Tebow, was previously on Will Muschamp’s coaching staff at Florida. He joined the Gators as a quality control coach and grad assistant in 2013 and was promoted to wide receivers coach in 2014. He was not retained after Jim McElwain’s hiring and took a position with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their football development program last July.

Leak spent a very brief period in the NFL with the Chicago Bears in 2007 before bouncing around to the AAFL, CFL and Arena Football League.

Following are a couple of shots of Leak being introduced by the Eagles.
