Alabama commit Chris Allen will make an official visit to LSU this weekend after a home trip from head coach Ed Orgeron on Thursday.

Ed Orgeron promised big things when he was hired as the permanent head coach for LSU back in November. Delivering a top-ranked recruiting class would go a long way in that goal, and the news that four-star linebacker Chris Allen, a current Alabama commit, will be officially visiting the Tigers this weekend could be just a start.

Per SEC Country, the Baton Rouge native Allen will put off a trip to Tuscaloosa this weekend and instead stay in his home city. This comes after Orgeron spent a large part of Thursday, the day after the recruiting dead period ended, with him.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Allen will be a part of a huge recruiting weekend for LSU, especially on defense, as high priority targets such as Phidarian Mathis, K’Lavon Chaisson, and Marvin Wilson are also expected on campus.

Allen committed to Alabama after the Crimson Tide had defeated rival Auburn in the Iron Bowl, but Orgeron and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda have stayed in constant communication with the local prospect. Allen is the 81st overall prospect in the 2017 recruiting class, while being ranked No. 5 out of all outside linebackers. He could see time at both linebacker and defensive line in college, as he played both in high school.
