Four-star Alabama commit Chris Allen is still thinking about what it’d be like to play for the hometown LSU Tigers.

New LSU Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron has positioned himself nicely to make a big splash on National Signing Day in the recruitment of 5-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson, but he’s not the only elite prospect Orgeron has an opportunity to land.

Despite his commitment to Alabama at the end of last November, homegrown linebacker Chris Allen is still thinking about what it’d be like to play for the Tigers. He officially visited LSU on Jan. 13, and following an OV to Alabama last weekend, as well as a visit from several Crimson Tide coaches on Jan. 17, he posted an image of himself in Tigers gear with the message “Home do sound nice.”

Allen committed to the Crimson Tide on Iron Bowl weekend during an unofficial visit. It was a big pull for Nick Saban considering Allen is from Baton Rouge and attends school just 10 miles to the north of LSU’s campus. It was another sign that power in the SEC runs through Tuscaloosa.

However, Saban will have to hold off the new Tigers coaching staff, who is pushing hard on Allen.

Locking down the state borders, and especially the city of Baton Rouge, has to be a priority for Orgeron. Flipping Allen would be a huge start to that, and a statement to the rest of the conference.

In a recent interview following his OV with the Tigers, who he grew up dreaming of playing for, Allen stated that “They (LSU) have a chance.”

“I’ve been thinking about them more than ever.”

Orgeron and the Tigers now have just over a week to convince the nation’s No. 4 outside linebacker and No. 74 overall player that his childhood dream is the one he should play out.
