Non-Conference Games: at Louisville, Elon, Eastern Michigan, at Temple
Games vs. the West: at Southern Miss, Rice, at UTSA
– The 49ers aren’t taking it easy to kick things off, going to Louisville to start the season, and going to Temple isn’t as fun as it might have been a few years ago. However, hosting Elon and Eastern Michigan should bring a few wins early on.
– It’ll be tough to get any wins against the West, but there’s no Louisiana Tech to deal with. Charlotte isn’t going to beat Southern Miss on the road, and it’ll be the underdog against UTSA.
– The 49ers have to plav three road games in four dates, but at least there’s a week off before having to go to Southern Miss.
– There aren’t any sure-thing wins in Conference USA play, but the league opener against Old Dominion should be as close as it gets.
– WATCH OUT FOR … Eastern Michigan. It’s at home and it’s early in the season. If there’s any hope of improving on the 2-10 record of last year, this is a must-win.
2017 Non-Conference Games: at Eastern Michigan, Georgia State, North Carolina A&T, at Kansas State
