Scoring continues to be a big problem for Kent State. This is when the offense is supposed to be humming, but instead it’s dead last in college football averaging just 14.3 points per game with two shutouts in the last three games. Why? The O can’t move the ball a lick. The Golden Flashes convert just 23% of their third down chances.
The Golden Flash D is trying to make up for the problems on the offensive side. The secondary doesn’t give up anything deep, and the run defense, for the most part, has been able to hold up. The problem is the offense that just won’t give the defense any sort of a break, but CMU will turn the ball over from time to time. Kent State has to take advantage of every opportunity.
Central Michigan will get up early with a few scores, and that should be enough to get by. The Golden Flashes will sputter and cough missing a few key chances, but the defense will be just good enough to keep this from getting out of hand.
Final Score: Central Michigan 24, Kent State 13, Line: Central Michigan -10, o/u: 41
