Cavin Ridley Decommits From South Carolina Two Days After Committing

Cavin Ridley has decommitted from South Carolina just two days after committing to the Gamecocks.

Will Muschamp got a big-time commitment from a 4-star wide receiver, and then he lost it.

Two days after pledging to the Gamecocks, Cavin Ridley, the No. 32 wide receiver in the 2016 class, backed off his commitment to South Carolina with a message he tweeted out Monday morning.

Ridley, the brother of Crimson Tide freshman wide receiver Calvin Ridley, is expected to join his older brother in Tuscaloosa, Ala. next season, as Alabama is favored to land his commitment.

The Florida Gators are the dark horse in his recruitment, but it’s also possible the Gamecocks may fight their way back into the conversation. Auburn and Florida State are in the mix, but Alabama is the clear-cut favorite.

The Crimson Tide sit in the No. 4 spot in the 2016 class rankings, and having a Ridley tandem at wide receiver would certainly be cause for concern for opposing secondaries in the SEC next season.
