Three-star quarterback Cade Weldon committed to the Miami Monday, giving the Hurricanes two quarterbacks in the 2017 class.

Mark Richt landed his 2017 quarterback when 4-star recruit N’Kosi Perry committed to Miami on Saturday. Now, he has two.

The Hurricanes added a second passer to their 2017 haul when 3-star quarterback Cade Weldon, from Tampa, Fla., pledged to Miami Monday evening.

The No. 34 quarterback in the nation announced his decision in a message on Twitter.

At 6-foot-3 and 190 lbs, Weldon is a one-read passer right now. He has a love for the long ball with slightly above average arm strength, but he does have a good feel for placement when driving the ball down the field — nice touch on the ball. Weldon has sneaky athleticism, too. He won’t be someone to design running plays for, but he can get out of the pocket and improvise.

Miami now has 13 commits in it the class, seven of which are on the offensive side of the ball.

Richt has the Canes ranked as the No. 5 class in the country.
