Why BYU Will Win

The Cougar D presents a huge hurdle for a Utah State offense that’s struggled for much of the year versus quality defenses. BYU allows only 3.7 yards a carry, has 15 picks and can dominate the line of scrimmage with DE Bronson Kaufusi and hard-hitting linebackers Fred Warner, Harvey Langi and Jherremya Leuta-Douyere.

Why Utah State Will Win

The Aggies can match the BYU D blow-for-blow. Utah State, too, is sound against the run, stingy when the ball is in the air and gifted in the front seven with DE Jordan Nielsen and linebackers Kyler Fackrell and Nick Vigil.

What’s Going To Happen?

The defenses are similar, and are likely to set the tone at Maverik Stadium. However, BYU will have slightly more pop on offense and consistency, with QB Tanner Mangum and RB Algernon Brown helping guide the Cougars to a narrow win in the 85th rendition of this instate rivalry.
