You have to give it up to the Cougars, as they have gone out and put together a tough schedule for this season. That has unfortunately led to a 4-4 record so far, with the last loss coming 28-27 at Boise State. Quarterback Taysom Hill has been medicore, throwing for 1,607 yards and nine touchdowns, and needs to cut back on the interceptions.

Cincinnati is also 4-4 after being defeated by Temple 31-14 this past weekend. The Bearcats could only muster 186 yards of total offense, as the Owls swarming defense made it difficult all day for Tommy Tuberville’s team

What To Know About BYU

BYU’s offense is usually prolific, so the fact that the Cougars are No. 78 in the nation in total offense is surprising. The problem has been through the air, as the Cougars average only 202 passing yards per game, good for No. 93 in the nation. Hill will have a chance to break out against the Bearcats, who allow 256.9 passing yards per game. Hill will first lean on running back Jamaal Williams, who has been a star, rushing for 942 yards and 10 touchdowns in the season.

What to Know About Cincinnati

The Bearcats offense has been a struggle all season, and a murky rotation at quarterback that has ended with with Gunner Kiel under center hasn’t helped. Cincinnati is 84th in the nation in total offense, and averages just 22.8 points per game. Could the departure of former offensive coordinator Eddie Gran to Kentucky be the difference?

Advantages

Offense: BYU. The Cougars aren’t their usual self, but they are more explosive than Cincinnati.

Defense: Tie. Both units have had difficulty stopping offenses this season.
