Breyon and Brandon Gaddy have committed to Maryland, giving the Terrapins 24 total commits in the 2017 recruiting class.

Two weeks after they backed off their pledges to Tennessee, brothers Breyon Gaddy and Brandon Gaddy have committed to Maryland after officially visiting College Park this past weekend.

Breyon, a 4-star prospect, is ranked as the No. 24 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 3 defensive tackle in the state of Virginia. Brandon, a 3-star recruit, is the No. 56 defensive tackle in the nation and Virginia’s No. 4 defensive tackle.

Brandon announced their dual commitments via Twitter on Sunday afternoon.

Breyon stands at 6-foot-4, 305 lbs, and Brandon is listed at 6-foot-5, 289 lbs.

As mentioned, both players decommitted from Tennessee on Nov. 29 after initially pledging to the Vols on July 19.

When Breyon spoke with Campus Insiders, he voiced frustration with the coaching staff in Knoxville and questioned some recent actions by the Tennessee staff.

With the additions of the two brothers, the Terrapins now sit at No. 11 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings with 24 total commits.

They’re much-welcomed additions to Maryland’s future defensive line as the commitments come on the heels of a decommitment from 4-star defensive end Joshua Kaindoh.

The Terps have two other defensive tackles currently commited: 4-star prospect Cam Spence, the No. 22 defensive tackle in the nation, and 2-star defensive tackle B’Ahmad Miller.

After a 6-6 mark that resulted in the Terps finishing in fifth place in the Big Ten East division, landing a top-10 recruiting class would go a long way for D.J. Durkin as his first season as head coach comes to an end.

Maryland is 86 recruiting points behind No. 10 Clemson.
