Four-star tight end Brevin Jordan previews his upcoming Michigan visit. Brevin is looking to see how he vibes with the coaching staff.
February 27, 2017Four-star tight end Brevin Jordan previews his upcoming Michigan visit and discusses what he’s looking for.
Many factors typically go into a recruit’s commitment: Early playing time, distance from home, relationship with the coaches and parental wishes all tend to carry weight.
For 4-star tight end Brevin Jordan, the relationship aspect with his future coaches is of upmost importance.
“I’m going to focus on the area and the vibe from the coaching staff,” he told Steve Lorenz of 247Sports regarding his upcoming visit to Michigan.
“If I get a phony vibe from a staff from a school I’m interested in, things will sour really quickly on my end.”
The good news for the Wolverines is Jordan will be entering his trip with a pre-formed opinion about Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and the program in general.
“Michigan, that’s big time. The way they run their program is like a professional team with Coach Harbaugh there. They have the Jordan brand, the area is beautiful. I see them as ‘Tight End U’ out there.”
Jordan, ranked the nation’s No. 1 tight end and No. 27 overall player, plays his high school football with fellow 4-star recruit Dorian Thompson-Robinson, the quarterback for Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas. Thompson-Robinson is also high on the Wolverines’ list.
The two elite prospects could end up being a package deal for one lucky college.
Ironically enough, former Bishop Gorman and 5-star recruit Tate Martell signed with Ohio State this past cycle. Considering how proactive he was in helping the Buckeyes land their highly-touted 2017 class, one has to expect Martell will do his best to sell Jordan on the Wolverines’ arch-rival.
A year after Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer tapped into the Bishop Gorman pipeline, Harbaugh may just flip the switch.
