Bret Bielema jumped into the NCAA, Michigan drama over the Wolverines' controversial spring practices in Florida.
March 3, 2016Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema is the latest to jump into the Michigan spring practice controversy.
If you were wondering the reason for the uproar surrounding Jim Harbaugh’s plan to host Michigan practices in Florida, allow Bret Bielema to shine some light on it.
Bielema was considering bouncing down to the IMG Academy in Bradenton to check out the Wolverines, likely wanting to scout Harbaugh for the Arkansas-Michigan season-opener in 2018. Unfortunately for him, the NCAA won’t allow it.
Just found out from NCAA office we can't go to IMG open practice because in NCAA football it's a quiet period
Maybe next year #Jamaica

The consistency, or lack thereof, within the NCAA rules is confounding at times.
While much has been made about Harbaugh’s idea, the real issue lies within the governing body of collegiate athletics. Harbaugh simply identified a legal way within the rules to market his program, and provide his team with a welcomed break from the norm. It’s not the player you need to hate, it’s the game.
