Braxton Miller injury update as of Monday. There's "no doubt" he'll play against Illinois according to Ohio State wide receivers coach Zach Smith.
November 9, 2015Ohio State wide receiver Braxton Miller left Saturday’s game in the fourth quarter after landing hard on a tackle. Miller was taken down by Minnesota defensive back Briean Boddy-Calhoun.
The extent and type of injury at the time was unknown, but Urban Meyer doesn’t seem too concerned it will hinder Miller following Ohio State’s 28-14 win against the Golden Gophers.
“I think he’ll be all right,” Meyer said, regarding Miller’s status. “I just talked to him … think he just got the wind knocked out of him or dinged a little bit.”
On Monday, Ohio State wide receivers coach Zach Smith confirmed Meyer’s initial sentiment. Smith said there’s “no doubt” Miller will be on the field this weekend when the Buckeyes travel to Champaign, Ill. to face Illinois.
Miller carried the ball five times against the Golden Gophers but only made on catch – the 45-yard reception he was injured on.
For the year, Miller has hauled in 20 receptions for 325 yards and 3 touchdowns. He’s also rushed 35 times for 218 yards and a touchdown.
Kickoff between the Buckeyes and Fighting Illini is set for 11:00 a.m. CT.
