Boston College hopes to rebound from third losing season in five years …

Last season couldn’t end soon enough for Steve Addazio and the Eagles. Boston College went winless in ACC play and ended the year on an eight-game losing streak. The entire program was crushed beneath the weight of a feeble offense that averaged 15 points per game and erased the work of a stingy defense.

This shapes up as a particularly important spring—and season—for Addazio, who’s trending in the wrong direction after three seasons. He seems to be the right guy on the Heights, but conventional wisdom goes out the window if Boston College doesn’t begin scoring more points and pulling out a few more nail-biters.

No One Is Worried About …

The defense. Yup, there are losses, from coordinator Don Brown to all-stars Steven Daniels, Connor Wujciak and Justin Simmons. Extra Attention Must Be Given To …

Every phase of the offense. No area can be overlooked after Boston College ranked 124th nationally in yards per play. The offensive line was a disaster, so even the reliable ground game was stuck in neutral. The Eagles return nearly everyone who carried the ball in 2015, and QB Darius Wade returns from his broken ankle, so the foundation for success is there.
