    October 17, 2016

Big Ten football standings for Week 8 of the season. Michigan, Nebraska and Ohio State all remain perfect in conference play and overall.

Michigan and Ohio State continue to roll along in the Big Ten East. The Buckeyes received a scare from the Badgers, just like the Wolverines did, but managed to pull out a 7-point win over Bucky, again just like the Wolverines.

Wisconsin is now 1-2 in conference play and tied with Minnesota in the Big Ten West.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have matched both Michigan and Ohio State, and currently lead the West with a 3-0 mark in conference and 6-0 record overall. The Cornhuskers’ toughest part of the schedule still lies ahead, as they have to travel to Iowa, Ohio State and Wisconsin this season.

The Hawkeyes are a Northwestern loss away from controlling their own destiny in the West, while the Wildcats are a Nebraska loss away.

Four teams are tied for last with 1-2 conference records in the West – Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Purdue – the latter of whom dismissed its head coach on Sunday. In the East, Michigan State and Rutgers have yet to register a conference win, sporting 0-3 and 0-4 Big Ten records, respectively.
