Week 11 Big Ten Football Picks

    Ohio State vs. Illinois

    Date
    : Saturday, November 14

    Kickoff
    : 12:00 p.m. ET

    Venue
    : Memorial Stadium

After a one-game suspension, J.T. Barrett is back and will start for the Buckeyes if he has a good week in practice, according to head coach Urban Meyer. No matter who is throwing the ball, the Fighting Illini’s defense is going to have a tough time stopping Ohio State. That being said, the Illini will make this early road game interesting, but the Buckeyes find a way to win again.

    Pick: Ohio State

    Spread: Ohio State -16.5

    Michigan State vs. Maryland

    Date
    : Saturday, November 14

    Kickoff
    : 12:00 p.m. ET

    Venue
    : Spartan Stadium

The Spartans suffered their first loss of the season last week against Nebraska, but are still in the Big Ten title hunt. The MSU defense will play hungry and feast on a Terrapins offense that is last in the nation in turnover margin at -18.

    Pick: Michigan State

    Spread: Michigan State -15.5

    Northwestern vs. Purdue

    Date
    : Saturday, November 14

    Kickoff
    : 12:00 p.m. ET

    Venue
    : Ryan Field

This one will be shaped by defense, as are most Northwestern football games. Purdue’s offense is all but nonexistent, and the defense will have a tough time stopping Justin Jackson. The ‘Cats make it look easier than it has been lately.

    Pick: Northwestern

    Spread: Northwestern -14.5

    Nebraska vs. Rutgers

    Date
    : Saturday, November 14

    Kickoff
    : 3:30 p.m. ET

    Venue
    : High Point Solutions Stadium

The Cornhuskers might have found something in their passing game last week, and the Rutgers secondary will do nothing to stop them. For the Scarlet Knights to stay in the game, they have to keep the points down. Rutgers won’t be able to keep Nebraska off the board, as the Huskers win by three scores.

    Pick: Nebraska

    Spread: Nebraska -9.5

    Michigan vs. Indiana

    Date
    : Saturday, November 14

    Kickoff
    : 3:30 p.m. ET

    Venue
    : Memorial Stadium

Indiana has lost five straight games, but the Hoosiers are better than their 4-5 record. Michigan likes to grind on offense and then let its defense stifle opponents. The Hoosiers will find the end zone, though, and make this one interesting before the Wolverines ice it late.

    Pick: Michigan

    Spread: Michigan -13.5

    Iowa vs. Minnesota

    Date: Saturday, November 14

    Kickoff
    : 8:0 p.m. ET

    Venue
    : Kinnick Stadium

Iowa is locked and loaded. The Hawkeyes have a +11 turnover margin for the season and will continue to play sound ball against the Golden Gophers. Minnesota will definitely get a couple punches in, and will make the day long for Iowa, but the Hawkeyes grit it out to stay perfect.

    Pick: Iowa

    Spread: Iowa -12.5
