December 5, 2015Final Score: Texas 23, Baylor 17
Pick: Baylor 41, Texas 23
Line: Baylor -20.5, o/u: 68
Texas stunned Baylor after getting up 20-0 early getting a 57-yard touchdown catch from Caleb Bluiett, a nine-yard Tyrone Swoopes touchdown run, and two Nick Rose field goals. Down to a fourth-string quarterback after starter Chris Johnson got knocked out for the game, Baylor used WR Lynx Hawthorne, who struggled for an offense that turned it over four times. Hawthorne ran for an eight-yard score, and Johnny Jefferson worked from the quarterback spot to run for a 20-yard score, but just when things got interesting at 20-17, Texas got a third Nick Rose field goal to get up six. Baylor had its chances, but it fumbled away one late drive and stalled on another, and its Sugar Bowl dreams went bye-bye. Baylor outgained Texas 395 rushing yards to 156.
Player of the Game: Texas QB Tyrone Swoopes completed 12-of-19 passes for 151 yards and a score, and ran ten times for 52 yards and a score.
