Ben Davis Recruiting Update: No. 1 ILB Releases Top 5 Order

While Kirby Smart was being introduced as the new head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, his hiring was being felt on the recruiting trail in a big way.

Ben Davis, the No. 1 inside linebacker and No. 17 overall player in the country according to 247Sports Composite, announced his top five on Monday morning, naming the Georgia Bulldogs his leader. Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame and Auburn are also in the running.

Davis sent out the following tweet with the recruiting update.

Georgia’s class is currently ranked No. 3 in the nation by 247. The Bulldogs have 17 commits to date, but expect the current makeup to morph as Smart gets moving on the recruiting trail.

In addition to Davis, one prospect to keep a close eye on is No. 2 pro-style quarterback Jacob Eason.

Eason will reportedly look at Miami, and rival Florida appears to be making a hard run, but he remains committed to Georgia as of now.
