Ben Davis recruiting update. The 5-star inside linebacker has two schools leading, both SEC programs.
January 13, 2016There are few things more competitive than college football recruiting, and the pinnacle of the process is SEC recruiting.
College football’s most prominent conference attracts the nation’s best young football stars.
If a player’s really good, he’ll have multiple powerhouse SEC programs battling over his commitment.
Ben Davis is in that boat right now. The No. 1 inside linebacker in the 2016 class has read through loads of scholarship offers. He’s made visit after visit and had big-time football coaches follow his every move.
The options are endless for Davis, but with National Signing Day creeping closer, he’s set his sights on two schools. According to a tweet from Ben Thomas of the Alabama Media Group, Alabama and Georgia are neck-and-neck for Davis.
“Five-star LB Ben Davis of Gordo is the Class 3A Lineman of the Year. Davis says #Alabama, #Georgia share No. 1 on his list,” Thomas tweeted.
Davis stands tall at 6-foot-3, and his 240-pound frame smacks running backs like a ton of bricks.
He’s the complete package at the inside linebacker position. Davis maintians gap control, sniffs out runs, hits like a heavyweight fighter and is an athletic monster.
The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide aren’t just battling for a recruit. They’re fighting for a potential defensive anchor.
