College football runs on whatever time Nick Saban has. Apparently, the same holds true for the recruiting trail.

Alabama will welcome an unexpected visitor this upcoming weekend, and it’s probably a good sign for the Crimson Tide.

Five-star linebacker Ben Davis was originally scheduled to take an official visit to Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Jan. 29, with an official visit to Auburn coming on Jan. 22.

Sorry Gus Malzahn, but it looks like Saban is stealing your slot on Davis’ calendar. The No. 1 inside linebacker in the nation tweeted a picture with Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt during a home visit. Pruitt apparently helped organize the change of schedule.

The final stages of Davis’ recruitment appears to be coming down to Alabama and Georgia — pitting Saban against Kirby Smart. Davis named the Bulldogs as his leader back in December.

Whether or not this mean’s Auburn is out of the race is unknown. Davis could still squeeze in a last-minute visit on Jan. 29.
