Ben Davis commits to the Alabama Crimson Tide on National Signing Day. He's ranked as the nation's No. 1 inside linebacker.
February 3, 2016It was a very competitive race until the very end for the services of No. 1 inside linebacker Ben Davis. It was basically another classic SEC showdown, but in the end, the Alabama Crimson Tide won out. Davis committed to the Crimson Tide on National Signing Day in front of a nationally televised audience.
The 5-star linebacker was the No. 11 overall recruit in the class of 2016 and chose the Crimson Tide over Notre Dame and SEC rivals Auburn and LSU.
Davis is the type of talent that’ll keep the Alabama defense playing on an extremely high level for years to come.
Ben Davis is the real deal. If you don’t know that, kick back, relax and try not to drop any popcorn when your jaw ends up on the floor. He’s a prototypical inside linebacker who can shut down running lanes as well as Patrick Willis did at Ole Miss and is an absolute physical specimen. He’s big, strong, quick and instinctive. He needs to improve his footwork and technique in pass coverage, but he should get that down fairly quickly.
