The No. 7 Baylor Bears will travel to Fort Worth for a rivalry matchup against the No. 19 TCU Horned Frogs on Friday night.

The Bears (9-1, 6-1 Big 12) bounced back nicely from their loss to Oklahoma a couple weeks ago by getting their first win over Oklahoma State in Stillwater since 1939 and ending the Cowboys’ undefeated season in the process. Baylor lost Jarrett Stidham at halftime, turned to third-string QB Chris Johnson and didn’t skip a beat. Johnson stepped in and threw two big touchdown passes — a 39-yarder to Jay Lee and a 71-yarder to KD Cannon. In addition to his two scores through the air, Johnson ran for another to put the cherry on top of this one and secure the victory. Shock Linwood (20 car, 91 yards) and Devin Chafin (16 car, 60 yards) each had a touchdown rush to lead a strong effort from Baylor’s running attack.

The Horned Frogs (9-2, 6-2 Big 12) were without two of their stars, but put up a valiant effort in a tight, 30-29 loss to Oklahoma last week. TCU fought back in the second half after facing a 16-point deficit at halftime. Bram Kohlhausen connected with Emanuel Porter with 51 seconds left to bring the Frogs within a single point. However, Gary Patterson made the bold decision to go for two and the win, but TCU came up unsuccessful. Kolhausen subbed in for the struggling Foster Sawyer and threw for 122 yards with a pair of touchdowns. The Frogs also got a strong effort from their running game, as Aaron Green scored a touchdown and topped the 100-yard mark (126). Kolby Listenbee, KaVontae Turpin, and Emanuel Porter each had touchdown receptions as they collectively filled the place of the injured Josh Doctson.

Baylor and TCU will face off for the 111th time on Friday, the most played series for both programs and 17th most played series in college football history. The Bears lead the series by a slim 52-51-7 count and have won three of the last four meetings.

    Prediction

Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Nebraska should’ve beaten BYU and Illinois. It could have beaten Wisconsin, Miami and Northwestern, and it would’ve beaten Purdue with just one big late stop. But the Huskers didn’t get it done. Iowa should’ve and could’ve lost to Pitt and Indiana, and it would’ve lost to Wisconsin if the Badgers didn’t keep screwing up. But the Hawkeyes did get it done – that’s what the good teams do. However, at home, with the bowl game on the line, and after everything that’s happened this year, Nebraska will get its second big, giant win. It needed a minor-miracle to beat Michigan State, and it’s going to need a late field goal to stun the Hawkeyes.
