It’s been all Bears as of late in the longtime Baylor-Rice rivalry. Baylor has won the last seven meetings dating back to 1993. Overall, the series sits at 48-30-2 in favor of the Bears. The two teams first met in 1914 and many of the matchups came during the Southwest Conference days.

Wayne Graham is one of the coaching legends in all of college sports and his Owls are always national contenders. Unfortunately for Rice, Graham is the baseball coach.
Baylor will roll over the Owls in a half-empty Rice Stadium that once held a Super Bowl. Can you believe that? Rice hosted a Super Bowl!

Rice’s defensive ranks:
Total Defense: No. 121
Passing Defense: No. 116
Rushing Defense: No. 108
Scoring Defense: No. 112

Baylor’s weak non-conference slate comes to an end with a game against an Owls team that has trouble scoring and trouble defending. In a major college football game, such things are problematic. The Bears shut down quarterback Tyler Stehling, who is the Owls’ only playmaker, and roll to another big win.

Seth Russell might throw for 600 yards. Seriously. Probably seven touchdowns, too. Baylor will have this one wrapped up well before halftime.

Baylor beat Rice, 70-17 last year in Waco. This year, in Houston, the Bears are going for 100. Enjoy this football equivalent of a snuff film.
