Barack Obama picks the Kansas Jayhawks to win the 2016 NCAA Tournament. It's his last time selecting as the POTUS.
March 16, 2016
Time to take a look at Barack Obama’s NCAA Tournament championship pick, the last he’ll make as president.
The POTUS’s pick is in. President Barack Obama has completed his bracket, and he’s going with the Kansas Jayhawks to bring home the bacon.
Kansas is considered by many, including most oddsmakers, as the favorite to win the 2016 NCAA Tournament. Behind the play of Wayne Seldon Jr. and Perry Ellis, and on the back of another spectacular coaching job by Bill Self, the Jayhawks claimed the regular season Big 12 crown, conference tournament title, and are riding a 14-game winning streak.
“Bill Self owes me,” Obama joked. “I’m putting Kansas in here. Coach, I’m just teasing. I’m not putting pressure on you.”
The bad news for the Jayhawks? Obama has gone 1-for-7 in picking the NCAA Tournament winner.
But it’s a new day, and this is a new bracket.
As for who will escape the other regions unscathed, he has Michigan State, North Carolina and Texas A&M advancing to the Final Four.
Obama predicts the Jayhawks will beat the Tar Heels in the national championship game.
Let the games begin.
