October 22, 2015The Auburn Tigers will travel to Fayetteville Saturday to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks in a 12:00 p.m. SEC West matinee.
The Tigers (4-2, 1-2 SEC) have battled inconsistency all season long, but are hoping to build off their first conference win — a 30-27 triumph over Kentucky last week. Running backs Peyton Barber (26 car, 92 yards and 2 TDs) and Kerryon Johnson (9 car, 36 yards, 1 TD) accounted for all of Auburn’s touchdowns and wide receiver Ricardo Louis finished with a career-high 154 receiving yards in the victory. For Barber, his seven touchdowns in the past two games are the most by an Auburn player since Tre Mason had four against Arkansas and three at Tennessee in 2013.
The Razorbacks (2-4, 1-2 SEC) are coming off their bye week and are hoping to turn around their season. The last time Arkansas saw the field, the Hogs lost a tough contest to Alabama in Tuscaloosa, 27-14. The Razorbacks held a brief 7-3 lead at the half, but Alabama reeled off 24 unanswered points in the second-half until Arkansas scored a touchdown in garbage time. Quarterback Brandon Allen threw a couple of TDs in the game, but the Razorbacks will need to improve on 44 yards rushing if they want to have a chance this week.
Auburn and Arkansas will get together for the 25th time Saturday, with the Tigers leading the overall series (13-10-1) and games played in Fayetteville (6-4). Although Auburn has the edge, the series has been very close. Through the first 24 games in the series, Auburn outscored Arkansas by a total of just 587-575, an average differential of just 0.48 points per contest.
Below is everything you need to know about the game, including the Auburn vs. Arkansas online live stream options, TV broadcast information, game notes and prediction.
Arkansas will win with the passing game. Both teams will run well, but the Hogs will hang on to the ball for long, sustained drives, getting just enough from Brandon Allen to keep the chains moving on third down play after third down play. Don’t expect pretty.
