Five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon committed to the Michigan Wolverines, as Jim Harbaugh was able to lure the nation’s No. 11 overall player to Ann Arbor.

We finally know where the No. 2-ranked defensive tackle in the nation is going to spend the next three to four years. Five-star recruit Aubrey Solomon committed to Michigan on National Signing Day.

The Wolverines was able to stave off Alabama, Georgia and USC in order to land the Leesburg, Georgia prospect.

Solomon is also ranked as the No. 1 defensive tackle in the Peach State and the No. 11 overall player in the country At 6-foot-3, 304 lbs he’s an athletic, agile defender who explodes off the ball. He has the kind of elite quickness off the line that will allow him to provide constant penetration and an interior pass rush for Michigan.

Solomon originally committed to Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines on June 18. However, communication issues between Michigan and Solomon’s family led to his decommitment on Aug. 22. Harbaugh and his staff kept their foot on the pedal, and after spending an in-home visit with Solomon’s family following the dead period, they were able to lure the blue-chip recruit back into the class.

Michigan now has two 5-star commits in its 2017 class, as Solomon joins wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones in that sense.

However, Solomon is simply one piece to a grand puzzle for Harbaugh’s future defense. The Wolverines also landed defensive tackles James Hudson (4-star) and Phil Paea (3-star), but they also managed to pick up a talented group of defensive ends: Luiji Vilain (4-star), Deron Irving-Bey (4-star), Corey Malone-Hatcher (4-star), Donovan Jeter (4-star), Ben Mason (3-star) and Kwity Paye (3-star).
