The four-star Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy quarterback committed to Miami on Saturday, giving the Hurricanes their 12th pledge in the Class of 2018.

Outside of Penn State and Notre Dame, head coach Mark Richt and his staff have arguably the best class in the ’18 cycle thus far.

The New Jersey native recently transferred to IMG Academy, and he was one of the most sought-after signal-callers in the country. He fills the Hurricanes’ need for a QB in this class in a big way.

Sitkowski’s two years at Old Bridge (NJ) High School did not deliver overwhelming statistics because he played in an offense that was built around running the ball. Over the course of those two seasons, he went 199 of 394 through the air (50.5 percent) for 2,632 yards with 22 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He added 394 yards and 10 scores on the ground.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder does possess a lot of the physical tools, however, that lead to becoming a high-end passer. Moving onto IMG Academy will allow him to get better coaching while playing and developing in a more pass-friendly offense. He has a high ceiling, and that’s why major programs were intrigued.

Sitkowski has good arm strength and pocket presence, but he just needs to further grow into his body and continue to get reps for his overall development as a player.

In addition to Miami making him a priority, hometown Rutgers as well as LSU and Florida were in pursuit of his pledge. New Tigers offensive coordinator Matt Canada reportedly told Sitkowski that he was the Bayou Bengals’ top target at QB in this cycle. But Richt and his staff won out.

Sitkowski had a list of 26 offers, with North Carolina and South Carolina also being in the mix. He is expected to be the lone QB in Miami’s 2018 class.
