    Why You Need To Care

The No. 13-ranked Wildcats got off to a great start this season, winning their first five games, but then they ran into Providence and took their first loss, 69-65.

Since then, Arizona has been on a roll, winnings its last five games to improve to 10-1 on the year. Their last time out, the Wildcats stomped all over Northern Arizona 92-37.

Now the Wildcats welcome UNLV (8-3) into the McKale Center, and the Rebels are looking to get back on track after dropping their last game to Arizona State on Wednesday, 66-56.

    Why Arizona Will Win

Ryan Anderson, Allonzo Trier and Gabe York have been great for Arizona, as they’re the only three wildcats to average double figures. Anderson and Trier are both shooting above 50 percent from the field, and York has knocked down 42.9 percent of his threes so far. They’ll have to split the scoring duties and balance out the offense for the Wildcats. York will do damage from the outside while Anderson bangs down low in the paint, and Trier will trickle in points here and there to separate Arizona from UNLV down the stretch.

    Why UNLV Will Win

The Rebels need to force York into some tough looks. If they close out hard and stick with him off the ball, UNLV can try and limit the damage he’ll do. As far as Anderson goes, the Rebels just have to keep an eye on him at all times when the shot goes up because he will crash the glass. Patrick McCaw, Jerome Seagears and Derrick Jones Jr will have to share the basketball and take high-percentage looks to capitalize on offense.

    What’s Going To Happen?

York is going to hit some clutch buckets in this one. Anderson will chase a double-double. Trier will add a three or two in a double-figure scoring night, and the Wildcats will simply share the basketball to take good looks at the basket. UNLV will get solid efforts from its big three, but McCaw will do the most work of the trio. The Wildcats will easily win the rebounding battle and keep the Rebels off the free throw line.
