    Why You Need To Care

Arizona can win without LB Scooby Wright. The Wildcats bounced back from a shaky effort versus UTSA to humble Nevada in Reno, 44-20. It was a potential landmine road trip, yet the Cats roared without the services of their emotional leader. In their final non-conference tune-up, they host Northern Arizona. The Lumberjacks of the Big Sky Conference are also 2-0, beating Stephen F. Austin and N.M. Highlands.

    Why Northern Arizona Will Win

While the Wildcats stepped up in Week 2, they’re still a vulnerable team on defense. And good luck getting motivated for an FCS visitor when UCLA visits next Saturday, Arizona. The Lumberjacks are flourishing behind the big-play pitch-and-catch combo of Case Cookus to Emmanuel Butler.

    Why Arizona Will Win

The Wildcats have scored at least 42 points in both games, a number it’ll once again surpass. They’ll get little resistance from the Northern Arizona defense, which won’t stop the balance attack of QB Anu Solomon and RB Nick Wilson. Wilson averages almost seven yards a carry, while Solomon has thrown six touchdown passes to no picks.

    Player Who Matters

Where’s the pass rush, Jeff Casteel? The Arizona coordinator cannot be happy that his team has just one sack against two inferior opponents. And tackles for minus yards have been scarce, too. The Cats need DE Reggie Gilbert to begin making the most of the fifth year of eligibility granted this offseason by the NCAA.

    What’s Going To Happen?

RichRod has a simple agenda for this weekend—stay healthy, get reps for the backups and complete the sweep of the non-conference schedule. The way the offense is beginning to hum, Solomon, Wilson and the starters shouldn’t have to play more than a series or two into the third quarter.
