    Why You Need To Care

We have a top-25 matchup on our hands with this one — a little Pac 12-West Coast flavor.

No. 19 Arizona is coming into this game 6-1 and eager to take its first official road game of the season. The last three contests for the Wildcats have all been on neutral floors, and they were upset by Providence in one of them. Of course, Sean Miller’s crew got it together to beat Boise State on Sunday.

Arizona is facing a tough Bulldogs team, though. No. 13 Gonzaga is 5-1 with its only loss having come against Texas A&M — also on a neutral floor.

The Bulldogs were 15-1 at home last season, with the lone loss coming against BYU in the last home game of the season.

We’ll see if the Wildcats can keep Gonzaga’s current home-winning streak from reaching three games.

    Why Arizona Will Win

How good has Ryan Anderson been so far for the Wildcats? He went off for 27 points and 12 rebounds in the loss to Providence, but he’s been averaging 16 points and 10.2 rebounds for Arizona. Miller will have to get a big effort from Anderson in this one, but he’ll also have to preach shot selection to his team, which is shooting just 28.1 percent from three. Gonzaga’s perimeter defense has been very good, so the Wildcats can’t settle for jumpers to win this game.

    Why Gonzaga Will Win

Who’s been knocking down threes against the Bulldogs? Basically no one. Gonzaga has allowed the lowest three-point-shooting percentage in the nation at 21.3 percent. Head coach Mark Few needs his guys to keep that up and for Kyle Wiltjer to do what he does best: score. The Kentucky transfer has bumped up his scoring average from 16.8 points last season (his first with the Zags) to 19.3 points per game this season. A big game from him will go a long way. And of course, if Domantas Sabonis goes off for a double-double, that surely will help.

    What’s Going To Happen?

Two words for you: watch Wiltjer. He’s going to snag his fourth 20-point game of the season. The Zags will lock down the arc and win the turnover battle to end up with their sixth win of the season. Arizona will get valiant stat lines from Anderson and Gabe York, but it won’t be enough. Gonzaga’s defensive effort mixed with Wiltjer’s shooting will get it done.
