    Why You Need To Care

The No. 13-ranked Wildcats (7-1) are good … very, very good. Obviously, losing to Providence in a neutral-site game raises a few eyebrows, but what’s the ride worth if there aren’t a few bumps in the road? Losses like that will help shape the character of the team.

Arizona has won its last two games, including a tough one on the road against Gonzaga, 68-63, on Saturday.

Fresno State (6-2) started off the season with five straight wins, but it’s lost two of the last three games. The last time the Bulldogs took the floor, they took a 12-point defeat from Cal Poly on the chin.

Head coach Rodney Terry needs to get his guys focused again because Arizona definitely has some playmakers, and the Wildcats haven’t lost a regular-season home game since February of 2013.

    Why Arizona Will Win

Ryan Anderson and Gabe York have been lighting it up for the Wildcats, but after that it kind of drops off. Anderson and York combine to shoot 45.9 percent from the field, and York has easily been the team’s best three-point shooter at 40 percent from behind the arc. Arizona needs Allonzo Trier to step up as the true third scoring option in this one. The Wildcats will have to keep Fresno State off the free throw line and off the offensive glass, too. If they don’t, it could be a rough night.

    Why Fresno State Will Win

Defensively, the Bulldogs need to figure out which one they want to focus on: York or Anderson. Pick one and devote your energy toward keeping him from scoring. If that turns out to be Anderson, Torren Jones will have his work cut out for him. Jones will have to force Anderson off his spot and keep him from crashing the boards. Fresno State can live if the rest of the team takes perimeter jump shots. The Wildcats are only making 28.7 percent of their triples anyway. If the Bulldogs attack the rim and get Anderson and Kaleb Tarczewski into foul trouble, they’ll pick up some easy points and clear some room on the glass.

    What’s Going To Happen?

Anderson will chase a double-double and really give the Bulldogs problems in the paint. York will knock down some key jumpers and force some turnovers on defense. He’ll collect a few fast break buckets, and Fresno State will try and keep up with some triples via Cezar Guerrero, but it won’t be enough. With Anderson leading the way, Arizona will win the battle on the boards and end up giving the Bulldogs their third loss in four games.
