Arizona vs. California prediction, online live stream and TV broadcast information for Thursday’s game.

The No. 18 Arizona Wildcats will host the No. 25 California Golden Bears on Thursday, as they seek to continue their dominance in the McKale Center.

The Wildcats (22-7, 10-6 Pac-12) are looking to gain some positive momentum in March as they try to end a two-game skid. Arizona’s road trip ended in losses to Colorado and, most recently, Utah. The Utes took control of the game in the first half with an 11-point lead at halftime, but the ‘Cats stormed back in the second frame and were able to claim a 64-63 lead with less than three minutes to play. That is the last lead Arizona would have, as Utah closed out the game with a 7-0 run to earn the win. The Wildcats had the edge on the glass (37-34), but the Utes shot better from three (29.2 percent to 23.5 percent), and from the field overall (49.2 percent to 42.6 percent). Alonzo Trier scored a game-high 23 points to lead Arizona in a losing effort.

The Golden Bears (21-8, 11-5 Pac-12) are one of the hottest teams in the country no one is talking about. Cal has won seven straight games, including an 87-65 victory over USC on Sunday to finish the year 18-0 at home. The game was close early on, as they were tied at 26, but the Golden Bears went on a 14-0 run to grab a big lead heading into halftime. Cal capitalized on its first-half momentum as its lead ballooned to 26 at one point in the second frame, as it cruised to victory. The Golden Bears were plus-six in the rebounding battle and plus-two in rebounding margin, while shooting better than the Trojans from the stripe, from three, and from the field overall. Five Cal players landed in double figures, including four starters led by Ivan Rabb. He finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds, good enough for his ninth double-double of the season.

Arizona and Cal will meet for the 91st time on Thursday, with the Wildcats leading the series, 59-31, all-time. The Golden Bears knocked off the ‘Cats at home earlier this season, 74-73, on Jan. 23.

    Prediction

Arizona is in dire need to get back in the win column and a game in March at the McKale Center might be what the doctor ordered. Mix in Senior Day for both Gabe York and Ryan Anderson, and there is no way Arizona drops this one.

Look for the Wildcats to rally around their veteran leaders. Anderson will get the better of Ivan Rabb in the paint and on the glass, but he needs help. Alonzo Trier proved against Utah that he can score in bunches when he wants to. Arizona needs Trier or York to run the show alongside Anderson if they want to get off the schneid. Expect one, if not both, to do so.

    Prediction: Arizona 77, California 71

    Game Notes

    • As a team, the Bears lead the Pac-12 in scoring defense (66.7 ppg), field goal percentage defense (38.9%) and fewest 3-pointers allowed (5.3 per game).
    • With a trio of blocks against the Utes, Kaleb Tarczewski has recorded 12 blocks in his last three games. The senior had blocked 16 shots in his previous 18 games this season.
    • At 18-0 this season, Cal has set a school record for consecutive home victories in a single season. The old record was 13 in a row during the 1953-54 and 1959-60 seasons.
