    Arizona State vs. New Mexico

Final Score: Arizona State 34, New Mexico 10

    1. It took a little while to get going, but Arizona State got two of Mike Bercovici’s three touchdown passes on the way to a 17-0 lead in the third quarter. He found Tim White for a 14-yard score in the final seconds of the second, and Demario Richard for a 33-yard play in the third. Bercovici’s eight-yard touchdown run later in the quarter put the game away.

    2. New Mexico got on the board in the third with a 65-yard Tyrone Owens touchdown run and added a 32-yard field goal late in the quarter, but ASU got its signature moment in the fourth when Demario Richard took a Bercovici pass 93 yards for a score.

    3. Zane Gonzalez started the scoring for ASU with a 22-yard field goal, and ended it with a 24-yard kick.

    Arizona State

    – The offense still isn’t humming like it needs to, or is supposed to, but it got the explosive plays when needed to get ahead and stay there. Demario Richard ran 15 times for 104 yards, and caught four passes for 151 yards and two scores including the back-breaking 93-yarder.

    – Mike Bercovici completed 22-of-37 passes for 317 yards and three scores, and ran eight times for 15 yards and a touchdown.

    – Even with a great rushing day from Richard, the ground game struggled to get going. He tore off one big dash, but it was a grind to crank out yards in chunks.

    New Mexico

    – The Lobos struggled to move the chains, and they stalled way too much, but they held on to the ball and managed to work the clock. The passing game didn’t find anything down the field, but the running game had its moments

    – Austin Apodaca completed 8-of-18 passes for 89 yards and a pick, and Lamar Jordan completed 4-of-11 passes for 22 yards.

    – Jhurell Pressley was held to 56 yards on 17 carries, with most coming on one run. The ground attack was far more effective than the passing game.
