    5-Star ILB Anthony Hines Commits To Texas A&M Aggies

    Five-star inside linebacker Anthony Hines committed to Texas A&M on Friday, giving the Aggies 26 total commits in the 2017 recruiting class.


    Kevin Sumlin’s staff continues to make moves on the recruiting trail.

    The Aggies flipped 4-star wide receiver Jhamon Ausbon from LSU the week of Thanksgiving, two weeks after they landed 4-star outside linebacker Devodrick Johnson.

    And on Friday, 5-star prospect Anthony Hines committed to Texas A&M, choosing the Aggies over Florida, Penn State, Ohio State, TCU and UCLA.

    In a tweet, Hines expressed his gratitude to all the teams who recruited him, in what was a very difficult decision. Ultimately it was Texas A&M that provided the best fit.

    “This has been a life changing and truly humbling experience to say the least. I want to thank all of the schools and coaches who have recruited me throughout this difficult process. From 90 to 1 … PRAISE GOD!!! After thorough analyzation with my family I am truly BLESSED to be committed to Texas A&M University!!!”

    With the addition of Hines, Texas A&M remains firmly entrenched at No. 5 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings.

    The Plano, Texas prospect stands at 6-foot-3, 225 lbs and is ranked as the No. 1 inside linebacker and No. 19 overall player in the nation. he’s a well-rounded linebacker with a high motor and a hit-stick mentality. He’s versatile enough to slide out and play as an outside linebacker.
