You got what you paid for.

You wanted to see Arkansas be Arkansas under Bret Bielema, blasting away with a powerful, crushing running game, and it did just that. Even if the Texas A&M defense came up with the big stop in overtime.

You wanted to see Kenny Hill be Kenny Hill, keeping his hat in the Heisman ring, and he did just that. It might have been an occasionally spotty effort, but when he had to come up with a throw of throws to put his team ahead in overtime – and to lead the way to points to get his team there in the first place – he did everything technically correct and threw a strike. You could just hear the coaching in his game-winning throw – “LOOK OFF THE SAFETY and it’ll be wide open.”

    He did, and it was.

This was Arkansas showing that things are improving in a big hurry under its second-year head coach, and it showed that it’s going to be a major player in the SEC West as the proverbial team you don’t want to face.

This was A&M showing it could find a way to close, and it was Arkansas showing that it couldn’t do it quite yet.

Hill threw a pick, and he only completed 21-of-41 passes, but great quarterbacks overcome adversity, and he proved he could come through in the clutch with an amazing finish. And on the other side, Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams provided the 1-2 rushing punch blueprint that Bielema used at Wisconsin and appears ready to make special at Arkansas in the near future.

It was a brilliant game between two terrific teams in the best division in college football by ten miles. Get used to it for the rest of this year from the rest of the division. Get used to Hill doing this a few more times, at least. Get used to Arkansas as a player.

Get used to getting everything you want out of the SEC West.
