It’s the most exciting time of the year for college basketball fans: March Madness. Get ready for the thrills of Cinderella stories and enjoyment of watching the best teams in the country go head-to-head on the biggest stage in college sports.
Conference tournaments are set to begin, and for the teams in the America East, the local tournament serves as the only path to the Big Dance.
The top overall seed for the America East goes to the Stony Brook Seawolves, who’ve recorded a remarkable 14-2 record in conference play and went 23-6 overall. There are four players averaging double figures for the Seawolves, led by senior forward Jameel Warney, who averages an outstanding 18.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
However talent is stacked from top to bottom in this conference. New Hampshire’s Tanner Leissner (15.6 PPG), UMass Lowell’s Jahad Thomas (14.2 PPG), and Hartford’s Pancake Thomas (19.0 PPG) are all names to know now that the calendar has turned to march.
