Three-star defensive end Alec Jackson revealed his top four schools on Saturday with the Pac-12 and SEC represented.

The conference championships have been wrapped up, and the college football postseason is about to be in full effect. But recruiting has been going strong for some time now, and we now know the finalists for the state of Alabama’s No. 3-ranked defensive end.

Alec Jackson, the No. 39 defensive end in the 2017 recruiting class, has narrowed down his choices and revealed his top four schools on Saturday. In alphabetical order, Jackson is down to Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss and USC.

He released a brief statement regarding his final four schools.

“[I] wouldn’t ever think I would be saying this, but I’m [blessed] to say that these are the schools I’m considering to play the next 3-4 years for.”

Gus Malzahn’s Tigers are the favorite to land him, considering they are the home-state team. However, Jackson took an official visit to Los Angeles for the Trojans’ 45-27 win over Notre Dame two weekends ago.

At 6-foot-5, 270 lbs Jackson explodes off the ball with great quickness. The Montgomery, Alabama native can shoot gaps and cause trouble for opposing teams’ running games. He’ll need to keep his pad level down and refine his technique as a pass rusher, but he’ll cerctainly be serviceable for any of his final four schools on the defensive line.

With his ability to fire off the ball, it could make sense to move Jackson to defensive tackle in order to provide an interior rush.
