Alabama vs. Wisconsin live updates and game day tracker. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the opening-game action from AT&T Stadium.
September 5, 2015Come Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. ET, all eyes will be focused on AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX for the showdown between No. 3 Alabama and No. 20 Wisconsin.
Primetime, out-of-conference openers are nothing new for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. In the past three seasons, Alabama has opened with neutral-site games against Michigan (2012), Virginia Tech (2013), and West Virginia (2014). The Tide rolled to double-digit victories in all three.
Alabama has a few question marks entering the season, but the running game, anchored by Derrick Henry, will be solid and the defense could be one of Saban’s best. Despite some uncertainty, especially at the quarterback situation, it’s another championship-or-bust season for the Crimson Tide.
For Wisconsin it’s the second year in a row the Badgers will open against an SEC squad. Last year the LSU Tigers handed the Badgers a 28-24 loss in Houston to start the season.
Saturday’s game will also mark the start of a new era for Wisconsin. Paul Chryst took over the head coaching position after Gary Andersen bolted for the Oregon State job during the offseason. Chryst was hired from Pittsburgh, where he coached the Panthers to a 19-19 record during his three years. Prior to that he spent seven seasons as an assistant coach with Wisconsin.
Superstar running back Melvin Gordon is gone for the Badges, but junior Corey Clement is ready to shine in his absence. However he has his work cutout for him against the Alabama defense. Wisconsin’s offensive line will need to give Clement space to work with if the Badgers want to leave with a win.
