I’m actually the individual who chooses what games we do roundtables for each week, and judging by the groans around the office, the guys were pretty ticked that this game is part of lineup. If Mississippi State hadn’t upset Texas A&M last week, it would have been off the docket. Now we have all these salty writers penning how Bama is going to hang half-a-hundred on the Bulldogs.
Alabama is just so focused that it’s impossible to envision any sort of let down following that intense LSU game. Looking back on that contest, it might be one of the best games Lane Kiffin has ever called, even if the score won’t reflect it. He kept pressing the outside to bait LSU, while occasionally pushing up the gut to reinforce to his players that’s where they’d win. After landing body blows for three quarters, he trusted a young quarterback to go to work. All the while, Jeremy Pruitt’s defense held strong by neutralizing the Tigers’ strengths. Regardless of how you feel about Alabama, it is really a treat watching Crimson Tide games – the coaching and execution are exemplary.
Alabama wins handily against a far less talented team So much for the afterglow, Dan Mullen.

Don’t ask me how, but, yes, Mississippi State did beat Texas A&M. That kind of Dan Mullen magic isn’t going down this time, though. True freshman Jalen Hurts will continue to shine. He’ll pull the ball down, break free and waltz into the end zone a couple of times during this one. But he’ll also pass for a score or two. I made the mistake of picking the Aggies over Alabama because I felt like it was a trap game for Nick Saban’s guys — shows me to think any game is a trap game for Bama. The Crimson Tide will win this one with ease.

Once Alabama is up by 35 points at halftime, Dan Mullen will go into the locker room and put on a bright pair of shoes as a way to distract everyone from the fact that his team is awful. You know, like he did at SEC Media Days as a ploy to get anyone to talk about anything besides him allowing Jeffrey Simmons on the team. It didn’t work then, and it won’t work now. Alabama in a laugher.
