Alabama vs. Mississippi State online live stream, TV broadcast information and game preview for the matchup between the Crimson Tide and Bulldogs.
November 13, 2015The No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide will roll into Starkville on Saturday to battle No. 17 Mississippi State in a highly anticipated SEC West matchup.
The Crimson Tide (8-1, 5-1 SEC) were rewarded Tuesday, moving up to No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings following their biggest win of the season — a 30-16 victory over former-No. 2 LSU last week. The Tigers and Tide were knotted at 10 in the second quarter, but Alabama would outscore LSU 20-6 the rest of the way behind two touchdown runs by Derrick Henry. Henry could not be stopped, rolling over the LSU defense for 210 yards and three touchdowns on 38 carries. Henry’s big day moved him up fifth nationally in rushing yards with 1,254 this season and he’s tied for the national lead in touchdowns with 17. The Crimson Tide defense put up a big time performance as well, holding the Tigers to 182 yards of total offense and bringing Leonard Fournette to a screeching halt (31 yards). Jacob Coker showed poise, and although he didn’t find the end zone, he also didn’t commit a turnover.
The Bulldogs (7-2, 3-2 SEC) are hot, winning four straight games and six of their last seven. Last time out, Mississippi State made easy work of the Missouri Tigers, knocking them off, 31-13, on the road. The Tigers were able to make it a one-point game before halftime, but three Bulldog touchdowns in the third allowed Mississippi State to pull away. Dak Prescott continued to perform like one of the best players in the country, throwing 40 times for 27 completions, 303 yards and four touchdowns in non-ideal conditions. Prescott was also the leading rusher for the Bulldogs, keeping the rock 14 times for 47 yards. Prescott got a lot of help from his two top receivers, as Fred Ross and De’Runnya Wilson combined for 15 receptions, 202 yards and three touchdowns.
Alabama and Mississippi State will meet for the 100th time on Saturday in a series that dates back to 1896. The Tide have a commanding 78-18-3 lead over the Bulldogs and have won seven straight games in the series.
Below is everything you need to know about the game, including the Alabama vs. Mississippi State online live stream, TV broadcast information, game notes and prediction.
Last week the total focus of the Alabama defense was on No. 7, this week it’ll be on No. 15. Prescott is just the sort of elite SEC quarterback who has the ability and experience to come up with a legendary performance, and he’ll have his moments, but he’s not running anywhere and his big passing day will be overcome by Alabama going on long drive after long drive. Bama has been tested three times away from home, and it beat Wisconsin, Georgia and Texas A&M by a combined score of 114-50. Dak will push again late, but Bama survives.
