A win over Alabama probably would seal the deal for Ed Orgeron becoming permanent head coach of the Tigers. I don’t see it happening, though. Leonard Fournette will have a better game than last year’s debacle that basically dropped him from the Heisman race, but Jalen Hurts and the rest of the Alabama offense will be too much. The Tide silences Death Valley with a 10-point victory.

Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice are highly skilled tailbacks. But they’re going up against Alabama. It’s kind of become a giant gap in the middle of LSU’s road — playing Bama, that is. Jalen Hurts will struggle early with guys like Jamal Adams making plays for the Tigers, but the true freshman quarterback will get it together and help the Tide take the win. For Bama, it also doesn’t hurt to have Jonathan Allen on the defensive line, basically eating up offensive linemen on a daily basis.

After a rough start that cost Les Miles his job, LSU has become a completely different team under Ed Orgeron. The offense has opened up, and expect Leonard Fournette to have a more productive game against the Tide this time around. Ultimately, the Alabama defense takes over in the second half, and Jalen Hurts makes a few big plays with his arm and legs that become the difference in the fourth quarter of an eventual ‘Bama win.

Will Leonard Fournette get revenge after such a bad showing against Alabama last season? Can someone finally slow down the Alabama offense led by Jalen Hurts? What will be the average blood alcohol content of the fans be, considering it’s a night game in Death Valley?
Alabama has showed few weaknesses this season, but this LSU team is peaking at the right time for a major shakeup to happen. Still, I just don’t see it happening. The Crimson Tide defense will make Danny Etling beat them by throwing the ball, which isn’t exactly his or the Tigers’ strongpoint. Alabama keeps rolling with a win in Baton Rouge.
