    5 Keys to the Schedule

    – Alabama needs a little time to retool and reload, and it’s not going to get it kicking things off in Arlington against USC. But Bama has been more than fine in these statement kickoff weekends over the years. WKU, Kent State, and UT-Chattanooga will be layups, no matter what Nick Saban says.

    – Here’s everything that matters to the Alabama schedule. At Ole Miss, and at LSU. The two massive SEC West games are on the road, as are back-to-back games with Arkansas and Tennessee. Those are the only four road games, but they’re big ones.

    – Here’s the nice part about Bama’s season – four of the last five games are at home, and there’s a week off before the lone road trip at LSU.

    – Alabama always plays Tennessee, but this year it misses Georgia and Florida from the East. Kentucky is the other interdivisional game – that’s really, really nice.

    – WATCH OUT FOR … Texas A&M. Last year, the Crimson Tide needed a week off after a sluggish performance against Tennessee, and Saban even said as much. It’s grueling being Alabama, and this year the week off comes at the end of October to prepare for LSU. Texas A&M isn’t just the last game in an eight-game stretch to start the season, but it also comes off the road trips to Arkansas and Tennessee.

2017 Non-Conference Games Florida State (in Atlanta), Fresno State, Colorado State, Mercer
