December 19, 2016Alabama football recruiting update as of December 18, 2016.
There is a lot of drama surrounding the nation’s No. 1 player, and that isn’t exactly great news for Alabama.
Five-star prospect Najee Harris, the No. 1 running back in the country, had a great visit to Ann Arbor, and now rumors are swirling about whether or not Harris will flip from Alabama to Michigan.
But if Harris stays pledged to the Crimson Tide, he has a massive, talented group of offensive linemen headed to Tuscaloosa with him.
Five-star offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood shut down his recruitment after an official visit to Florida and turned in his financial aid paperwork to Alabama. Along with Leatherwood, the Tide have 4-star offensive tackles Jedrick Wills and Kendall Randolph committed in the class.
When taking 3-star offensive guard Hunter Brannon into consideration, the average size of those offensive line commits is 6-foot-5, 305.75 lbs.
Alabama has built up a sizable lead as the country’s No. 1-ranked class and leads No. 2 Georgia by 652 recruiting points. Even if Harris flipped, which remains to be seen, Alabama would still lead by 352 points over Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs.
