Alabama football recruiting update as of October 16, 2016. The Crimson Tide fell one spot in the 2017 class rankings without losing a commitment.
October 16, 2016Alabama football recruiting update as of October 16, 2016.
Well, the Crimson Tide rolled into Knoxville and absolutely wrecked the Tennessee Volunteers in Neyland Stadium, 49-10.
Alabama didn’t lose or add any commitments, but it did fall one spot in the 2017 recruiting class rankings to No. 3 after Oklahoma jumped up into the top ranking.
There is a little buzz around the Tide’s class right now, though. Five-star recruit Najee Harris, the No. 1 running back and No. 1 overall player in the nation, is looking to take all five of his official visits and is less than 100 percent about his pledge to Nick Saban’s team.
Michigan seems to be the biggest threat to flip Harris’ commitment from Alabama.
While the Tide’s position with Harris may be slightly weakened, it had another 5-star commit make an eyebrow-raising move.
Dylan Moses, the No. 1 outside linebacker and No. 6 overall player in the 2017 class, took a surprise unofficial visit to LSU on Saturday to watch the Tigers beat Southern Miss, 45-10.
When Alabama hosts Texas A&M this weekend in Tuscaloosa, there will be plenty of high-profile prospects on campus for what could be a huge recruiting weekend for the Crimson Tide: 5-star offensive tackle Foster Sarell, 5-star outside linebacker Baron Browning, 5-star running back Cam Akers, 5-star outside linebacker VanDarius Cowan (an Alabama commit), 4-star tight end Major Tennison, 4-star safety Jaylen Kelly-Powell and 3-star JUCO cornerback Jhavonte Dean (an Alabama commit).

Even while visiting rival LSU, 5-star linebacker Dylan Moses still supported Alabama.
